Sri Annamalai Swami was a disciple of Bhagavan Ramana Maharishi. He came to Bhagavan at the age of 22 and served him devotedly for many years. Through Bhagavan's grace and rigorous sādhana, he attained Self-realization.

The Story

This is the story of the life of Sri Annamalai Swami, narrated by Swami himself. A story of how a child from a small village in Tamilnadu showing early signs of spiritual maturity, was steered towards his Guru, Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi. And through devoted service to Bhagavan and doing sādhana, as advised by Bhagavan, he attained Self-Realisation.

The Teachings

In the 1980’s small groups of spiritual seekers started to visit Annamalai Swami to ask him questions about Bhagavan’s teachings and how they helped him attain enlightenment. In response, Annamalai Swami began to talk about his experiences, his practices and the methods that worked for him. Most visitors were deeply impressed both by the quality of his teachings and by the aura of peace and authority that emanated from him.

During such conversations, some devotees recorded these teachings. They reveal the devotion that Sri Annamalai Swami had towards Bhagavan and how he followed Bhagavan’s advice at every step to finally attain the pinnacle of evolution.
